Where are the hidden people?
Consider the Ant?   Nah, not that ant!

Ok, here's the deal.

On the left, we have a bunch of people who have lived in the mountains of Central and South America and around the world, and have resisted all attempts to be reached by the world at large.  This resistance to communication with the outside world has led them to be void of an opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  They won't come down from the mountain and they will not let anyone go up there either so how can we reach them?

The leaders of the mountain tribes have been approached by their near government agencies, the Mexican Government, the Guatemalan Government, etc., and rejected their governmental claims to sovereignty to their tribal lands and leadership.  This has led to near slavery for the mountain people because the strongest or richest or the cleverest now hold their future in their hands and can only be reached through bribery or even more cunning.

The tribes people have found that they need money now since their tribal lands have been confiscated by their near governments and have been sending people out of the villages to work in migrant labor contracts.  The landowners need help with their crops, as raising vegetables can be a very labor-intensive operation.  The villagers provide inexpensive labor and as they leave their villages, they come to labor camps where the local landlords agree to let the Gospel of Jesus Christ be presented to the workers.  Through repeated attempts to find the Jesus Film in their language and translate accompanying tapes and literature, many have come to know the saving grace of Jesus.

This leads us to a very interesting opportunity to reach these folk that have never heard of Jesus Christ.  Because they are lonely and in need of a friend, and there can be no better friend than Jesus, they are open to watching the video or film presentations and then accept cassette tapes in their own language.  Because many of them do not even have a written language, they then take the verbal presentations back to their village with them and share with others.

Over the past 20 years, this has led to a people movement of Jesus Christ amongst these mountain people provided us with the opportunity to go to the villages through the migrant workers.

Where do we find these remote Indians?  How far do we need to travel to reach these remote inaccessible tribes of people who do not know about Jesus?  Well, you might want to look right down the road from where you are now.  During the summer months, the landowners across the world are looking for labor to harvest their difficult to handle crops and, you got it, they end up with some of these remote tribe people working for them.  They have labor camps all across the world where the Indians come down from the mountain, work for minimum wage and then return to the mountains carrying everything they have learned with them.  Sadly, they are often learning things, which do them no good.  Drinking, drugs and fast living are right around the corner and without some effort on our part, will learn everything but the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

So this brings us to the school, the outreach and the ant.  Should make a good book for someone to read, huh?

The ant is the name given to the little trailer that was made from a trailer that had a much longer name.  When it was painted, the letters were painted out, save the word ant.  So, behold the ant.  The ant is a trailer that was made by a number of people over an extended period of time.  It was widened when a wide person worked on it and talled when a tall person worked on it.  It is generally a functional mess because that is about what missionaries have been designed to be.  A mess, but one, which functions.

The ant has a TV, VCR, tape duplication machine and a bunch of video and audiotapes.  All of which are designed to be given to those folks who can't read because they can't read or because they have no written language to read which makes it difficult to read in your own language.  C?

Some of the missionaries who work in the camps use Vans.  Some use pickups and some use trailers.  The ant was chosen for a very good reason.  Someone paid for it.  They tell me that they can reproduce, not just like, but functionally, another trailer for about 1,500 USD.  They need several hundred of these but need folks who can go across the borders and take the stuff in to the Mexican and other International missionaries who can implement their use.  You could make one and go to your flea market, you know and you may find the lost and hidden people there as well.  Show them the Jesus video in their own language and start a people movement yerself!

The school is designed to teach you how to find out what language the unreached people groups really speak.  Though they are often linguists and understand a smattering of many languages, you need to go to their heart and this can only be done by speaking to them in their own dialect, the language of their birth, the sound of their heart.

So, we build ants.  Small trailers or overhead luggage carriers which contain a large screen TV with which we can play the videos for the folks as well as make cassette duplicates for them when we have found the closest possible dialect we can use to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with.

So, what can you do?  Well, first, get to know where in your world these migrant workers are.  They might be from China, or from Kentucky, or from some exotic place like Chicago or Chile.  They do not have the Gospel in their own homes or in their own villages and need to hear about Christ.  Right?  Of course right!

Then, you may need to be a bit crafty.  If they look like an Arab brother or sister, you might be surprised to find out that they are third generation Americans, just like you.  But, they may have literally just gotten off the boat.  If they are small and wear colorful and different clothes, they might be from the mountains of... China, Africa, Chile, or, maybe even Mexico.

Once you have begun to try and decide where they are from, you might want to try and talk to them.  You may need some help because they do not speak English, Spanish, Vietnamese or Chinese, they may be a member of a remote Indian tribe which consists of as little as 3 or 4 hundred or thousand members.  They may be on a fact-finding trip for their village to see if you foreigners really do eat your young and drink blood!  Communion?

In the event you don't know, you could come on down and attend a bit of a class, or send your kids to meet their kids so we can all be kids of the King?  There are so many opportunities that God did not burden us with Go, but more gave us an opportunity to use our energies for something more than a rousing watch of the Super Bowl or a tennis match?

So, how does it sound so far?  Wanna give it a try?  You can Go, or you can send, you might even wanna buy one of these dudes and watch it do its thing for Jesus in the hands of those who do this kind of thing all the time?

Give us a call, ask how we can help you reach the unreached and find the hidden peoples who may be standing right in front of you!
