Lets use "The Player"
Hey, how about a love story? You know I don't go in much for the mushy stuff but this one is real good.

We recently finished a trip to Southern California to visit with some friends, talk about missions and make contacts for the future. We were invited to speak at Agnes Numers Ranch up in Palmdale. Ted and I took turns and teamed up, telling them of the work we have been doing in Mexico and around the world through the e-mail in assisting other missionaries.

I had an opportunity to show a hand wound tape player, one that we had been blessed to be a part of manufacturing back in China, during the early days of our ministry and because we had stopped off in Glendale at Gospel Recordings, we had a batch of master tapes which are used to duplicate for the languages of the hidden people in Mexico.

I worked on some websites and while working, a dear lady brought her husband to me and was excitedly telling him that I had his mountain tongue in Mexico on tape. He kept saying no and she would urge him to ask me again and again. Finally, he told me that he needed the Tarahumara language and I asked him which part of Mexico it was from. He told me and I called Ella McMullen on the phone.

Now, this may have been the greatest of miracles because Ella was there. I put the man on the phone and he told her of his language and the location of his tribe in the central part of Mexico and then said, "11N Central." I told the kids to go to the car and get the tape. He then started to laugh at his wife, saying, "So, now we have something on tape, I suppose that the Indians are going to walk around with tape players and batteries and play the thing on their way to work. I told the kids to get the hand wound tape player. http://www.bobbywatts.org/Player

This is often used with the ant, http://www.bobbywatts.org/Ant and allows anyone, anywhere, to provide the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost and unreached people. The man, who's father and mother worked in Mexico was so excited. Now they could go to the mountains, give them the Gospel. So cool.

I am back in Arizona and feel like a water balloon, diarrhea and the snivels mean a sneeze is liable to leak out about anywhere. Frances is working on taking the flip charts and languages we have for the flip charts, cutting CD Movies and the kids are labeling the master tapes that belong to Dave McMullen and the second set as well. I am working on a project for Gospel Recordings that was initiated to save their archives. They are cutting mp3 files from the old tapes and many of them are just falling apart.

Pray for the folks at Gospel Recordings, send them some bucks so they can give more hand wound tape players away, with the master tapes in tribal languages as well. http://www.gospelrecordings.com. Say hi to Philip when you do.

Working for God is so cool...

We were wonderfully fortunate to be a part of making these tape talk players in a factory we put together in China, way back in 87-89, My what a blessing they are.
